That was a surprise when I walked at my local costco. Not listed on their site.

Tripod converts into a monopod and with pistol grip and ball head for only $49. On amazon just the head that comes with it is listed at $45

I played with it and it was surprisingly smooth. Says that holds up to 11 LBS.

Yep, if he got it, a whole year of using it would give him a pretty good idea of how it works...why I asked...your point?

Well I guess you could've sent him a private message instead of topping this post and misleading forum users into thinking this is a current deal.

Exactly. Also, the OP hasn't posted on POTN for a month, so he may not even see this.

Maybe we should ask P.O.T.N to lock threads that are too old. Otherwise, I was not aware posting to an older thread was wrong. I am sorry it burned your day, and waisted two seconds of your life that you will never be able to get back. Thats my bad...so sorry...in the meantime, does anyone have anything to say about this tripod?

It's not a manfrotto or Gitzo.

You could have asked a question about that tripod in the Accessories forum; that's what it's for. But if you can't fathom why resurrecting a Marketplace thread on a long-dead tripod deal is inconsiderate, then I won't waste any more keystrokes.

Guys I am here. Ok, so in general I am happy with a tripod. The ball works pretty good. None of my gear fell from it yet, and I have had it for a while. If you want to ask something specifically, let me know

Thanks, I do appreciate your feedback. That was what I was concerned mostly with...And I know that I am not the only person who may benefit from a little more feedback on this particular tripod, if they are looking to purchase one of the same. That's what I thought a community forum was about. Old news to some, is very current news for others who have not been on this forum that long.

Sorry your thread brought out what I consider to be ridiculous condescending comments....Ill end it here.

Oh yes, people have nothing else to do but to complain, I'll answer whatever questions everyone has. I just liked that that tripod was so cheap and still had a ball head. Now perhaps it is not as light as Gitzo and others that cost much more, but I think it is the best value 'cheap' tripod out there. Of course it could be also made in a monopod.

On the other hand I had an inexpensive Manfrotto Tripod last year and while it was slick and light, my D300 with grip almost fell, I caught it in mid flight. This is better for sure.

Yes, the duel monopod, ball head, and what appeared to be a very stable tool was what interested me. I am living on a beer budget and into a very champagne hobby...so where I can save and still have quality equipment is very important to me.

Thanks for being above all that, and helping me, and maybe someone else too. You can read reviews, but I prefer to talk to a real person who has had experiance with it. Thats pretty valuable information. Thanks again absolutic that helped a lot.

ps, good catch! happy that did not end tragic
