I'm searching for a very bright light stick or something I could use for making some night photos with long exposures. I tried using cold cathode lights but having a problem running them off a battery source, not to mention the glass is a bit fragile.

I was thinking of using glow sticks like the high intensity ones, but I would like to have the ability to turn them on and off. My other idea is using a powerful LED light with a color tube but I was really hoping I could get some rich colors like the cold cathode tubes can make.

Any ideas? I live in a no-fireworks area so that's not available.

Thanks,
Rob

Thanks! I think I'm going with cold cathode instead.
