I spotted this 159 T spark while walking the dog at night and so grabbed a quick shot with my Blackberry.
I messed about with it in photoshop a little to give a gritty urban look. (Odd colours are due to it being at night-WB set to Night)

Well that's cos it IS a fuzzy cameraphone pic but I had my dog with me and I didn't want to neal down and get a proper shot in case the owner came out! Was just a quick sneaky shot.

You're supposed to apologise AFTER insulting someone, not before!

Photo not good. Should've run back, gotten your 10D and tripod, then taken a proper shot. Sorry.

What are we supposed to do? Praise every pic that comes through here? I'm just calling a spade a spade here...not trying to be mean...

I take 500-1000 pictures with my cellphone every month...but I'm not silly enough to post them on a photography website...they're just random snapshots...as is this...it has absolutely zero artistic or photographic value.

Quite frankly, I don't think an apology was needed at all ;) I just wanted to be nice...

Yea right, it was gone midnight, theres no way on earth I'm gonna go back out with the 10D + tripod and go stalking someones car in a residential area at that time of night!
I really dont feel comfortable in such situations!!

Saying someone's photo is utter garbage is hardly respectable behaviour! You dont like the photo, fine! Just realise the situation before criticizing someone!!

While I sometimes pick a image apart in an effort to help someone, I try to avoid saying it's total crap, even if it is. But if I had to call one that in the last 5 years, it would be this one. And he makes a good point here, "...but I'm not silly enough to post them on a photography website", which you did. And then you, "messed about with it in photoshop a little to give a gritty urban look." which I'm sure didn't improve the IQ at all, so just what did you expect in the way of comments? Since you were happy enough with it to post it here, maybe you could enlighten us by posting what you think an ideal comment should be?

While you apparently did achieve your objective [which may have included a trolling element, ;)] I wonder why you feel that you were insulted when the comment was directed at your admittedly "fuzzy cameraphone" image? There's no reason to take a comment personally.

As for "Just realise the situation", give us a break! I get so tired of people saying things like, "I didn't want to neal down and get a proper shot; I really dont feel comfortable; the dog ate my homework..." Good images should evoke a response from the viewer, which yours did. If that response isn't what you expected, who's fault is that?

That having been said, it's sort of interesting, but there's nothing good that I could say about it beyond that.
