Well my 30D is on the fritz and I couldn't bring it to my husband's gig this past weekend. So I thought what the heck let's bring the G11. While the shots of his band didn't come all that great, the two bands on the better lit stage came out great for a little P&S camera!

My husband's band

yeah I had a little while to play with it, but I've been trying to get the 30D to work for this gig so the G11 just kind of sat around for a bit. The images got kind of messy looking when I put them up on photobucket and they got compressed. But in photoshop full size they look clearer.

I did get lots of stares though! Everyone else had flashes and looked at me like I was crazy to not be using one. Heck even the two pros there with the L glass and huge cameras looked at me funny! Don't care, my images came out good enough for what they're being used for!

It also stunk that my husband's band didn't get the main stage. They owner had trouble with the concert to begin with and had two bands cancel on him, so they asked my husband's band a week before the gig to cover for them, but said they wouldn't get the main stage (which they normally get at this venue.) If they had been there I could have gotten much better photos by getting closer to the stage (it was a southern rock show so it's a bunch of old drunk bikers and I didn't want to push in.)

Great pictures, what ISO and were you using an scn? Try getting yourself an OrangUtan outfit to get through the bikers , at least it will take the focus off the G11.

"Try shooting badgers, creep up in the dark, they hear the shutter, the flash goes off, they run, and what's the shot... "Badgerballs" !!!!
The difference between good and bad photographers is: Good photographers don't show their bad photos.
