Hi everyone! It's my first post on this forum :)
Few months ago I bought brand new Canon EF 24mm f1.4L II USM lense. It's superb lense, but I have two annoying problems with it.

1. Is it normal that this lense have 1 millimeter loose on focus ring? I can move my focus ring along the optical axis, about 1 millimeter.
2. When I set focus to infinity manualy (using infinity compensation mark), everything is blur. When I using autofocus or live view, infinity is between 3 meters and infinity compensation mark. I think that sometimes is closer to 3 meters than to infinity compensation mark. Is it normal?

Should I send this lense to a service? What do you think about it?

I have the same thing with my 135L, I heard it's caused by the weathersealing. Wouldn't worry about point 1, I don't know about #2 though.

No that's not normal on both accounts. Mine seemed to be just fine (thank goodness). If it focuses fine then I guess there's no need to fix it. Why don't you call by the camera shop you get it from and get as estimate on how long and how much will it cost to get it fixed.

Thanks for your help. I decided to send my 24mm lens to the service. I hope that they can repair it quickly.
