I would like to know how the iPad can be integrated into a photographers life, can you tether, use it as a traveling mega-portfolio, etc. Please keep us posted as to how you use it and you experience with it.
Thanks,
It is pretty handy. The camera kit has even picked up RAW files from the Sony NEX-3. There is no RAW support even via Lightroom 3 so that was a bonus for me. The downside, no video import abilities with the camera connection kit. No direct tethering but once done, import your images and start editing.
Also, you cannot sort folders for import directly unless you use iTunes but you do not need to use iTunes for files imported directly onto it since it shows as a "DCIM" style folder so imports to computers is fairly easy.

can you directly edit the photo on the IPAD using a pen tool? like a Bamboo pad with screen?
Kind of but not as accurate so on a train, need to take more time but its great with practice. You can change brush sizes and softness etc. Here is a quick pic whilst editing.
The apps are pretty affordable also. The most expensive photo editing program was £1.59 so not much at all.

very cool! what programs can you put on it?
I used Photo Gene and Photo FX. Photo Gene is much nicer to edit the photos for exposure and cropping since you can set various aspect ratio's which is better than guessing.
Photo FX is much more advanced and is pretty much all about using presets/filters such as ND grads, colour adjustments. Also can add in tilt/shift effects or increase "bokeh".

Still need to practice but considering what you have available via the App Store, in theory and in the right hands, I would say it could be a replacement to a laptop and im slowly leaning that way. Since battery life has been great (may not last), ive managed about 6-7 hours photo editing time mixed in with video playback and Flickr uploads before needing to charge.
These were originally converted from RAW to JPEG via Lightroom then just synced as a folder to the iPad. All edits done with the above mentioned software.
Thanks, still need finishing off so hopefully done soon.
