I just received a pelican case and love it! I have it nicely organized but thee is a rather good sized open are whew I want to store loose items such as business card case, card reader, cables, and chargers. I know about the think tank cable management products but looking for something just as good for cheaper because I want to get a few. Thanks!

Pick and pluck or dividers?

If it's pick and pluck just tear out a well big enough to fit things and still hold securely when the lid is closed.

Buy the lid organizer that fits into the inside of the lid...plenty of zippered pockets for the small, loose stuff.

There's an every day carry forum--don't have a link. Those guys have all kinds of organizers that work well. Found it hard to register at that site...
I found a couple of organizers at Mountain Equipment Co-op that are working for me...just.

Otherwise start looking at 511, maxpedition and other similar sites.

My ultimate organizer is my scottevest travel vest. The pocket for my G11 even has a pocket for a memory card! The glasses pocket has a microfiber cloth on a lanyard! Best thing is it simplifies air travel. Step out of the vest and it goes in a bin; I don't lose anything and don't slow anyone else down.

I don't have a POTN vest, because my Domke vest that is 20 years old still looks like new. Trouble is it doesn't get much use now. I've stretched, and it hasn't.

I just toss random things into random containers...plastic zipper lock bags, soft travel accessory bags to hold toiletries, small vinyl cases intended to hold small electronic items (cell phone, calculator, etc), small hard plastic containers from the drug store for packing bars of soap, etc....and drop them into the divided sections of my case.
