Great shots, I envy you being there. Its looked great on eurosport.
BTW did you see what lenses the motor cycle togs were using. They looked like 300mm f2.8 but I thought I saw a 100-400.Interesting that all the long ones seemed to be white!

From what I saw the Canon togs had anything from the 16-35mm to 70-200mm and the odd 100-400mm. Yeah had a great time took in 6 stages even the wife enjoyed it and are going back next year and do it all again.

Always good seeing stuff out of Europe. Knee jerk reaction: 1 looks hot, 2 looks cold (too light, too dark). Got any more?

Your profile says image editing is ok. I really, really like the Lance shot, but like Biff said it's too dark. I did some exposure/shadow/highlight adjusting in CS5, which took about 12 seconds. The photo is fit for a magazine:

That looks much better, I only quickly auto-levels and auto-contrast these shots as was using my laptop in the back of my campervan. Still can't work out if it's Lance or Levi in the shot. Hope it's Lance as it's his last tour but can't make out the chain around his neck. Any chance you could tell me the settings you used on the edit please Emtp563?

Damn... those are great shots! Thanks for sharing these!

I tried getting shots of LA in the Tour of California, but he was in the peleton and couldn't really catch a good one of him, but you got one dead on.

Love the "devil" picture as well. Good to see that he's very much still in the tour sidelines!

This "might" be Popovych (Popo). Lance usually wears a different colored helmet from the rest of the team and has black graphics on the front head tube.

Regardless, that's a great shot.

Thanks for the nice comments, its an amazing race - I was getting there 5 hours before they rode past and the locals just seem to come from everywhere. Getting a clear view was a problem and just the sheer speed they got at means you may only get a minute or less of shooting time, but already making plans for next year and would love to take in the Giro as well. However the wife may have other plans and our boxer dog comes as well.

Cheers

Matt

and I really liked this shot but the chicken in the background (which I liked) is a bit washed out any ideas?...

That's not Lance. Lance wears the grayish helmet and riding a limited Tour edition SRAM component groups (with yellow markings).
