If you know what I own in filters, it would make you broke. ;) I've already invested more than 2k in filters. That includes Lee and Singh Ray together!

that singhray stuff is like the rolls royce of filters. Even LEE/COKIN stuff is too rich for my blood.

I purchased a chinese knock-off set on ebay for $80, holder+adapter+10 filters... The quality is surprisingly good. At least i can play around with it w/o going broke. :D

Ain't that the truth! :);)

So I'm finding out! My problem is that I just bought a CF tripod, a large rolling camera case, several other filters, a 7D, a 10-22, a 17-40L, a 7D, and a 70-200 f/4 L IS. I'm tapped out!

Maybe I'll get the filter before I leave for Yellowstone.

This is one expensive hobby, isn't it?:D (I'd also like to have a 40 or 50D as a backup because my eyes are so bad I can't see anything thru the viewfinder of my old Rebel XT I use for a backup. Looks like another $800-$1000 when I add in the filter!)

Anybody know much about these Marumi filters 2filters.com raves about? They're cheap enough, but if they're like the junk Abe's and some other online camera companies want to sell you, forget it!

I wouldn't say they're junk...its just that every picture I've seen where a Marumi was used had a very pronounced blue color cast. If its in your budget, you'd be much better off with a B+W F-Pro MRC circular polarizer, at least IMO. If you're going to spend money on a filter, may as well get a good one right off the bat.
