The engagement shoot was a lot harder than I thought it would be. The couple was very easy going and in love so that made the shoot a lot easier for me. Anyways, let me know what you all think...more on my zenfolio, but these are my favs.

Not bad for your first shoot! I like your DOF in #1 especially. Spend a bit more time on PP, i.e. 1 and 3 could use a bit more fill light as your subjects are a bit dark. 2 could use a bit more contrast. Engagment shoots are really tough at first because it's just you and the couple and their is a lot of expectation on YOU to give direction. I think you did a great job :)

I agree about adding more contrast to the first 2.
I really like #3 except the overhead cross piece looking like it's about to pierce through her head.
I think #4 is too centered.

My favorite of the set would be #2.

Thanks a lot for the feedback! *takes notes* I'll redo the PP and post again and see what you guys think then.

I was hoping for some kind of mirror image from her shadow and the cross...I guess it didnt really work out. :)

Not bad for the first time, but in #3 I didn't even see the guy at first.. I thought it was her by herself lol.

I am super cool n' stuff.

This is the kind of feedback I am looking for. I guess my eye was shooting both of them so I wouldn't think he was invisible. Thanks!

I updated photo #1 by just adding some fill light and contrast.

Yeah I like the extra light, especially on their faces... makes the picture pop more. What software are you using to edit? PhotoShop? Lightroom? I use Adobe Lightroom for 90% of my editing and I like to up the clarity of my shots just a tad... I do this for most of my images because it really makes the subjects pop by adding an eye-catching texture. It doesn't work all the time, but you might want to try it here for this image, see what it does.

Awesome! That looks great... The texture of his shirt and the lighting on their faces are so nice.
