It's funny, almost all my friends get a new mobile phone every year by default... they by no means become attached to something so 'un-personal'.
I think a bit differently, for one.. I don't see a phone as un-personal, it's one of the most personal things I own, it connects me to thousands of personal moments in my life, both good and bad, and is often the closest contact I can get with some loved ones.
I also become strangely attached to all sorts of objects people normally throw out un-phased.
I bought my phone years ago second hand, I loved it! Anyway it's been all around the world with me, suffered trial by water, drops, scrapes, being thrown in anger, and a couple times.. being melted! I dread the day I have to replace it for a 'smart' phone.
Am I alone? Or do other people end up attaching themselves to mundane objects for years on end...
Oh, and here's the phone itself: (I like a story to a photograph
)
