Just thought I'd become active and post up a couple of shots.

These were taken on a trip to what we call the outback (central Australia). When we say it's flat out back in the red dirt country, it's flat haha

This one is of an old tumbled down homestead probably built in the goldrush days, complete with an abandoned Holden FJ (circa 1953-57) rusting away in the front yard

IMAGE: http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/ac352/LJG_photo/rustingaway.jpg

And you'll all know this one, the sun sets on another perfect outback day

Looks pretty desolate. I guess no one wants to haul the old truck to a junkyard for miles on end. Plus, I'm sure it's not bothering the neighbors. It looks neater with it sitting out there anyway.

It is! But it's not that flat!!!

Love the first photo. The wide angle really does the landscape justice.

Thanks guys. Yep, it gets pretty flat out there. It is amazing when you come to what we call a jump up (hill) and look around at the vastness of it. The outback is a place that polarizes people, you either love it or hate it. Most prefer the tropics but I prefer the desolate dry outback. There is just something about it.

I like your images Lloyd. It is interesting to see how others live in other parts of the world. You definitely need to post more up and I'm glad you became active. :)

I really like the first one. I know the car/jeep gives some perspective but I think I would have liked it shot from right in the middle of the front, so the metal gives some symmetry.

Thanks Laird. I shot it from the driver’s seat. We were tracking along coming back from one of the mines and I thought it would make an interesting shot, so pulled up and just shot it.

Glad you like them. Isn’t it funny, a lot of you guys want to come here, and a lot of us want to go there haha. We want to hire a camper and drive across the States one day. My youngest son is currently going down one side of the States and up the other, he and his wife are in Orlando at the moment and he is blown away by the country in general. He rings us up all excited telling us all about it.
