Title tells it all!
My budget is $250-270(tops) for a tripod and head. Biggest lens I have right now is the 70-200 F4 IS L, but christmas time is coming and the new 2.8 mk2 is a coming from Santa(it better be)! So that would be the biggest lens I would use (with a 1.4X).

Nothing above 4 pounds! I need to be able to hike with this tripod and i really dont want it to weigh me down. CF tripod would be great! But they arent going to be in my price range! I would love for it to ATLEAST have a 65 inch maximum height im 5'11" So that would be the shortest im comfortable with

I have been eyeing this particular tripod with head - Benro A-269M8 Travel Angel Aluminum Tripod with B-1 Ballhead, it goes for $250

Any other suggestions?

Is the one im looking at any good!?

Thanks in advance!

EDIT

Well it looks like that benro isnt even tall enough! i swear it was!

^ I would not recommend benros, take a look here https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=905911

There are many other thread about benro failures in legs and heads.

For the price your looking at, you can get a manfrotto kit http://www.bhphotovideo.com …_Aluminum_Tripod_Kit.html (external link)

or better yet, get the 190XB legs, and Manfrotto 498RC2 ballhead, which would cost you about $250.

If you want absolute reliability you have the choice of Gitzo, which is out of your price range, or Manfrotto, which is probably a bit heavier than what you want.

I agree on the Manfrotto 190/498 kit , it might be a we bit heavier than you want but it's pretty rugged . You'll have to go to a carbon fiber tripod to reduce weight but of course price goes up .

If you are a combat medic......suck it up soldier !!!

Hahahaha...well 4 pounds added to a 60 pound pack on a 20 mile hike could kill me! :)

My youngest son was humping about 110 lb on his tour in Afghanistan ( he's a medic ) . Heat is the big problem there as you can imagine .

I know , 4 lb doesn't sound like much but on a long haul it does make a big difference .
