Shooting this saturday ...i had a chance the scoop out the location for the ceremony ... and now i'm debating my setup for the wedding( just the ceremony)

here's what i got.

5D I
40d

16-35mm 2.8
50mm 1.8
55-150mm 2.8 sigma

580ex II
430ex I

i was thinking throwing the 50mm on to my 40d while the bride is coming down the aisle ... then switch it to my 55-150 ...

i don't want to use flash during the ceremony .. aside the fact that they wont' let me

thoughts?

The 16-35 works well oin the 5D at receptions but I wouldn't recommend it for the ceremony. I would probably put the 16-35 on the 40D with the 55-150 on the 5D. This converts the 16-35 into a 24-70 which is my most popular lens setup on my 5D. Use the Sigma for telephoto shots. For the ceremony, set both to manual 3.2 with a minimum shutter speed of 80. Adjust ISO for manual settings to work. Grain on 40D will be much greater than 5D so you might have to make the 5D your primary camera if lighting is very low.

you should get a 200 2.0L IS and a 14 2.8L just to be sure you have all angles covered.

Are you shooting it as the paid pro or as a wedding guest ?

50mm on a crop body isn't very wide.

I guess I would do the 16-35 on the 5D and the 50 on the 40D for some length. Vice Versa would be redundant focal length wise.

I know it's not what your asking, but I love the combination of 17-50 on my 50D and 100 2.8 on my 30D.
