I'm looking for a cheap monopod for sports use. I'd also consider the fancy heads that swivel and can shoot portrait or landscape if they're priced reasonably. I'd prefer to spend under $50 for the whole thing if possible. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I think the monopod was about $50 and $20 more for the head. 40d w/ grip, 75-300 f4-5.6, 85mm f1.8, 50mm f1.8, 18-55 is, Bowers SFD728c, 160ws Flashpoint strobe

Although, with the gear you have, and wanting it for sports, I don't really see the need for one.

Jul 24, 2010 17:22 | #9 Thanks, I checked the tech specs but it doesn't say what size thread the mount screw is. Do you know what tilt heads would fit on that? RayHff wrote in post #10595532 Here's one similar to what your looking at but it only costs $ 10.00. http://www.radioshack.com …dex.jsp?productId=2850678 My recommendation would be to spend the $ 10. It's a cheap experiment to see if you would really use it that much. If so, then go for a better one. Spending $ 10 might save you a bundle. I have one, but it's usually always in the trunk of my car.
