Hi all,

Got some UV filters on my lenses, some looking pretty grubby now, is there a good way to clean them?

They are the Hoya Pro multicoated filters, the surface looks like it doesn't want some washing-up liquid and a pan cleaner ;)

Thanks all!

use blower, then brush, then wipe down.

I typically use blower, brush first. If that doesn't work, I'll use my breath to fog up the glass and try wiping gently with Photosols' Pec Pads (http://www.photosol.com/padproduct.htm (external link)). These are one-time use disposable tissues. I prefer these over cleaning cloths because if the cleaning cloth is dirty, you'll be wiping it back onto the lens.

If it's really bad, I'll use a couple of drops of Lumicon ROR onto the pec pad and wipe (http://www.bhphotovideo.com …060_ROR_Residual_Oil.html (external link)). Depending on your cleaning frequency (less is best), 1oz bottle last for quite some time.
