There is a link in each quote that will take the readers back to the original posting that would contain said image. Even if it's 397 pages back.
The only reason I'm responding to this is because you made such an effort to go contrary to what I am saying...
From the link in your own signature under the section, "IMAGE POSTING RULES":
"When quoting posts that have photos, please take a minute to remove the [IMG] tags, or just remove the reference to the photo altogether. There's no reason to have the same photo quoted time and again in a thread.
"
If it's not necessary to follow then why put it in there?
Are these also suggestions? (Taken from the same section as the above quote)??
- Do not post another photographer's photos without permission from that photographer. Any photos violating copyright laws will be removed.
- If you do not have written permission to edit that photo, or the member has not set the Image Editing Okay flag (in User CP), you may not edit that photo and post the edited photo back. This applies to ALL FORUMS.
Dood maybe you should read the links in your own signature before you go telling me that what I've read isn't there, when it clearly is.

Yo!
Oh, great, a "Barracks Lawyer". The one thing we can be sure of with them is that they will get it wrong. Backlinks in quotes are somewhat less than useful as they go back in the same window by default, thus removing the quoter's comments from view, which is somewhat less than helpful, especially if quoter is suggesting a tweak, edit, or other modification.
The other two lines you raise, which are actual rules, are also addressed in the general forum rules with regard to violation of intellectual property rights.
And if you want to be a stickler, the forum rules also restrict any individual to no more than 8 embedded or 2 attached images per thread. Shall I start deleting all the excess images posted by virtually every participant in this or any other conversational thread and most of the product reviews? The Moderators have a specific, if somewhat complex, definition of what is, and isn't, permissible. In the interests of simplicity the limits are as stated.

Everyone please turn your head for a second *poops on Kody's desk* Okay, carry on.
They say "please", like a request, about removing the tags, but say "do not", like a rule in the other parts.
What Zane said. "Please" is to minimize load times and bandwidth drains on the hosting sites.

So being polite means we're allowed to just ignore it?
Go back and read my post and you'll see the distinction. That's a suggestion for courtesy. If you decide that any time someone ever says "please", you can just go ahead and do what you feel like, you'll earn a reputation for rudeness. And probably find yourself on a whole lot of "Ignore" lists.
