Morning Permi .How ya doing today? How is Kona doing >? Got some fresh roast coffee?

morning Deb. :)
I think I'm fighting a sinus infection. Dangit. :| *"waterboarding" is a pia too*

Kona is doing great. Dan and I are SO ready for the cone to be gone. (really hoping it goes today with the drain hose) We thought Hale gave us tons of bruises. Kona hits so hard and often with the cone, I look like I am a leopard.

and tomorrow is the "fresh" coffee. The coffee I'm drinking today is from a roast about 6 days ago. lol It's quite good though. Namby arms roasts very well.

Dogs were a little too much this morning too early.
Amikah is sleeping under my feet, Ginger is crashed under the table, and everyone else is locked outside rampaging.
It's still cool, well... I mean it's not hot yet. Let them get their yayas out.

Wade is having a really hard time with Montana's passing. Had another breakdown last night. It was so hard on him to be the one that found her, then have to be strong while I had my come aparts.
I'm still grieving, but have moved on to remembering the happy times, and I can smile when I think of her. He hasn't gotten to that part yet, and it's really taking a toll on him. *sigh*
It will be better once we get her ashes and have laid her to rest here with Cara.

Thanks so much for your kind words, Deb.

Some days are harder than others, and it's not always a picnic. Most of the time I love it, but sometimes.... I get tired.
I'm tired right now. When my emotions are already weak, my shoulders aren't as strong as they should be.

I glazed over this as I usually do when I see posts by Cat :p but especially when there are pages of posts to go through..I just look for pictures then...

Anyways, the point is, I read this when Lisa just quoted it. I just wanted to say that despite the difficulty that you go through Cat you and Wade both are awesome, awesome people. You are doing something that most people wont do much less can't do. I told Ashley about Montana and we talked about what you guys do. The amount of dogs you have come through there is unbelievable. Then multiply that 100's of times across each state and it quickly comes to light just how much need there is out there for animals to be taken in and taken care of. Thank you for what you guys do. Hang in there Cat and give Wade a big hug! :)

Boston.com's The Big Picture. Last week, I think I posted a link to photos of an oil leak in the Chinese port of Dalian. Here is the clean up operation:
Cleaning Dalian Harbour (external link)

I wonder what the health effects are going to be on the people working on this clean up? They are COVERED with oil. That doesn't seem like the healthiest thing...

Sad situation there and on the Gulf.

The spill in Dalian may turn out to be a bigger disaster than the one in the Gulf because of the clean up methods being utilized. that can't be terribly effective...

Deb, I was reading about canine epilepsy last time she had one. It interests me I guess. Anyway, they talk about some breeds being prone to developing it (Irish setters, cocker spaniels, golden and lab retrievers, poodles...that I can remember). And some breeds are genetically predisposed to develop other things that will cause epileptic seizures as one of the symptoms.

While Paris' breed isn't one that isn't in the first list (predisposed anyway), the Frenchies are genetically susceptible to other things that may have seizures as a symptom.

I hope you have a good vet that will check for everything.

Isn't it amazing that animals can produce such strong feelings? Even those that we haven't necessarily bonded with can bring out emotions we wouldn't have for another human. I remember two incidents, one quite recent that I already told you about. We had a cat (Caesar aka 'Mr. Cat'). He developed FIPS (Feline Infectious Peritonitis) which is a fatal disease. We had to have him put down, after which we stood out in the parking lot of the vet's office and bawled like babies for a good 10 minutes. The other time was Cinderella, the German Shepherd who was so terribly abused by her former owner.

Speaking of Cinderella, I recently inquired at the vet's on how she was doing, and they had a recent photo. She's gorgeous!! And by all accounts, she's very happy, well-adjusted, and at long last, enjoying life.

Happy endings do happen.

I am glad that Cinderella is doing so well.
