is that big get together down east still on in October?

Sorta... Heather and I are headed to PA in late October, but nothing else has really been formulated at this point.

I thought you went to high school in Hawaii.

For some reason I've really been jonesing for a trip to Monterey recently. I might have to head up there for a few days soon. Maybe I could even take a side trip up to San Anselmo to see how Dante is doing. He hasn't been around here in a long time.

I was born in Hawaii, but my high school years were spent in three different schools, one in Richmond, VA, another in King George County, VA and the last two years at Carmel High School in California.

For some reason I thought you'd used the words "and raised", too. My mistake...

Guess who cannot do it > And guess who she doesnt want . I personally think its too soon its only been 2 weeks . She had major surgery done to not only fix her hip but repair muscle and all , plus he arm that was broke is just starting to be able to be used again .

I hope she is getting around better soon.

But in every color that hasn't been used yet. :p

Chet... I'll have to look at yours again later. Pre-coffee, it gave me the spins.

Well done!
Are you sure those are not post wine spins?

Dogs were a little too much this morning too early.
Amikah is sleeping under my feet, Ginger is crashed under the table, and everyone else is locked outside rampaging.
It's still cool, well... I mean it's not hot yet. Let them get their yayas out.

Wade is having a really hard time with Montana's passing. Had another breakdown last night. It was so hard on him to be the one that found her, then have to be strong while I had my come aparts.
I'm still grieving, but have moved on to remembering the happy times, and I can smile when I think of her. He hasn't gotten to that part yet, and it's really taking a toll on him. *sigh*
It will be better once we get her ashes and have laid her to rest here with Cara.

Thanks so much for your kind words, Deb.

Some days are harder than others, and it's not always a picnic. Most of the time I love it, but sometimes.... I get tired.
I'm tired right now. When my emotions are already weak, my shoulders aren't as strong as they should be.

*hugs* Lean on our shoulders to rest yours and you will be strong again ;) *hugs to you and Wade*

I wonder what the health effects are going to be on the people working on this clean up? They are COVERED with oil. That doesn't seem like the healthiest thing...

Sad situation there and on the Gulf.

There are many toxic places in China. I remember seeing a story on city always shadowed by pollution from manufacturing. Sadly, as we have seen many times, toxins make it into products they manufacture and ship world wide. Scary when you consider they already have started selling cheap pharmaceuticals and medical components that are going to be used more and more to fit into the unfunded health care take over.

Hi Deb :D Oregon is perfect, thanks for asking! The job is going well, in fact it is about perfect for the many sides of me...lots of different kinds of people on a daily basis, no down time (which keeps me out of trouble, lol) And! I have lists *sigh* many lists with things that must be checked off daily. Makes my inner type A very happy

What is the fun in that and I KNEW IT!

Kona is doing great. Dan and I are SO ready for the cone to be gone. (really hoping it goes today with the drain hose) We thought Hale gave us tons of bruises. Kona hits so hard and often with the cone, I look like I am a leopard.

I tried the Neti. I think my nose is too broken and damaged to get good flow. Most just ran back out but for a few drops that made it to the other side.

Hi Lisa - we don't have any plans as of yet, been tossing a few things around, but my Brother is still here, and I have a meeting that I have to attend at 3:30 today (The Zoo's Director set me up with an appointment with the head Curator of Mammals to see what is going on and why I can't even get an interview for a keeper position)

When is Kona's appointment?

I hope it opens some doors for you.

Permagrin wrote in post #10625516 (external link)
Kona's appointment is at 2:20. Dan's going to take him. I think I'm going to take Hale swimming myself, while they are gone. I've been reluctant to do it (because I couldn't swim to save her) but I think she's swimming well enough that she wouldn't need any help from me. Is that a dumb idea?

I think she will be fine. Dogs are really good at swimming.

Yo

I am still not certain of anything this Sept-Oct, but will determine September likely tonight when I confirm if plans for a canoe trip have gone through. If not I may do an alternative trip. ;)
The October thing out east is still up in the air. If more interest is shown we may be in yet.
Yellow Belly in June is a definite for Lisa and me. :)

Yes, John and I will be in Penn Oct 27 - Nov 4.

I hope you plan to come to D.C. for at least a few day trips. We have the National Zoo and the Air and Space museum. There is also the Baltimore aquarium. Diane knows how to get here, I have seen her do it.

Wife used to live in Va, and would love to move back there - about 30 mins west of Dulles. I always love going to the National Zoo, but never made it to the Air & Space Museum :( Maybe next time I'll get a chance to go some places :)

Yes, John and I will be in Penn Oct 27 - Nov 4.

I'm envious. I would love to head East. I would spend days in the natural history museum. I may never leave it actually. I know Dan would love to tour as many historical sites as possible.
