I've heard many, many folk from the US say "kwayside" etc.

You mean like it is spelled?

the banks of a river in the UK in the cities are known as quays (keys). hence you get the quayside...and further to that, you get lots of bars and streets called Quayside dotted about the UK.

we're too complex to call it a riverside ;)

Yeah, but if it spelled (something)side, you are then obligated as English citizens to pronounce it differently, no?

Dang, you psycho types are really expensive. :p

Well, us psycho types have a lot of mouths to feed, what with all those multiple personalities, y'know...

How about this one: "Tackle" as used in a nautical connotation...

I don't know what you're going for here, unless it's just the short "Tack". I haven't heard anything different I can think of.

And, with that, I'm out. It's time for my much needed beauty sleep!

My name is Lonnie, but I answer to Thomas too.

Whenever I see "Q-U" in a word I'm not familiar with, I always pronounce it as a 'K." If my curiosity is sufficiently piqued, I'll check on the pronunciation. Otherwise, it just sounds queer to me.

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

Dogs were a little too much this morning too early.
Amikah is sleeping under my feet, Ginger is crashed under the table, and everyone else is locked outside rampaging.
It's still cool, well... I mean it's not hot yet. Let them get their yayas out.

Wade is having a really hard time with Montana's passing. Had another breakdown last night. It was so hard on him to be the one that found her, then have to be strong while I had my come aparts.
I'm still grieving, but have moved on to remembering the happy times, and I can smile when I think of her. He hasn't gotten to that part yet, and it's really taking a toll on him. *sigh*
It will be better once we get her ashes and have laid her to rest here with Cara.

Thanks so much for your kind words, Deb.

Some days are harder than others, and it's not always a picnic. Most of the time I love it, but sometimes.... I get tired.
I'm tired right now. When my emotions are already weak, my shoulders aren't as strong as they should be.

Can't say much more than others have already said. Just know we are here for you both to lean on when you need it. Give yourself and Wade a big hug.

I called the vet she told me to watch her and write down the episodes ,Gah gah ...I dont want any more she was just sleeping peacefully near me when she started to shake

Miniflash wrote in post #10625414 (external link)
Kody she hit her head a while back and had a seizure we took her to the vets and they did test on her and sent us home telling us she could do it again but if she did it could mean something worse is going on :(
She is such a doll ,I feel so worried for her .

 oh gosh, Deb. I'm worried with you as well. Paris reminds me so much of Cricket that it sends me into panic mode for you. Please keep us updated on what's happening. Will send tons of prayers and good thoughts your way.

Hi Lisa - we don't have any plans as of yet, been tossing a few things around, but my Brother is still here, and I have a meeting that I have to attend at 3:30 today (The Zoo's Director set me up with an appointment with the head Curator of Mammals to see what is going on and why I can't even get an interview for a keeper position)

When is Kona's appointment?

Hope you have a very good meeting and things work out well.

Permagrin wrote in post #10625516 (external link)
Kona's appointment is at 2:20. Dan's going to take him. I think I'm going to take Hale swimming myself, while they are gone. I've been reluctant to do it (because I couldn't swim to save her) but I think she's swimming well enough that she wouldn't need any help from me. Is that a dumb idea?

I don't swim either, Lisa. I wouldn't go let any of the dogs swim without hubby along. I have no idea if Cricket can swim and Dunken is really really not good at it. Art does well, and Ruger too. Although, Ruger doesn't know when to quit and would probably drown when he got to tired to swim.
