Is there any problem mounting an AB800 on a LumoPro 605 stand if I weigh it down well enough?

EDIT: I mean LP604 stands - sorry.

I've tried this when I had B800s. Don't do it. Even with weights, the stand isn't strong enough. If you pull out the stand, the higher you go, the more it bends. It's just not worth the risk. These LP stands are knock offs of the Manfrotto Nano. They're great, especially for the price, but they're made for speedlights with light modifiers only.

Thanks for the advice. grrr... guess I have to think over my portable lighting kit again... I live in the city and don't have a car.

I would never ever put a monolight onto a nano stand.

Those stands along with the Manfrotto Nano are NICE, but I don't think I would put a monolight on one. My 580ex ii on one can be nerve racking enough at times.
