1D MK III Blown Highlights

Hi folks,

I was out on the Kelby Photowalk today and noticed an awful lot of my pictures had blown highlights. I made sure to underexpose by 1/3 to 2/3rds stop, but still have more than I thought I should, as shown by the LCD on the camera. About to check the image in Lightroom, but thought I would ask if this camera tends to meter for perhaps a stop under needed to avaid the blow outs.

Any tips or tricks I am missing?

Post some example shots, with EXIF information if possible.

You know, loaded all images in Lightroom and just a few had any significant blown highlights and all easily removable with Recovery. So what it seems is that the highlight alert on the 1D MK III is showing the problem as much worse than it really is. Surprising, but also nice to know I do not have the problem it tells me I do have.

My MkIII is the first Canon digital body that actually takes perfectly exposed images at +/-0 Ev. I still shoot RAW only, as an added precaution.
