To be honest, 1 and 2 to me look like they were done by someone very inexperienced. A good concept, but horrible execution.

That being said, 3, 4, 6, and 7 (ESPECIALLY #7) are absolutely stunning.

Thanks, I value your opinion. I have other dress shots but they're so standard that I'm sick of them, so I try to use different angles to add some variety into there.

I'd be interested to know what makes the execution exceptionally poor in 2 though.

To me at least, the towel ring is extremely distracting (and breaks up the tone), the focus is a little off (a bit too forward) and the cooler tone for me just doesn't work at all.

Honestly? I disagree. I love all the shots! I especially want to know how you got so high for number seven! And is that a crystal chandelier in their bathroom?!?!

I wonder what the problem is with the dress shot (#1). I realize that it's unconventional, but it's a pretty cool execution. The shot could benefit from having the sky not blown, but I like the unconventional angle to it. I like that shot. I'll probably try something like that myself. I'm thinking that BRIDES will love it. I am inexperienced, not like Lloyd, who I take much inspiration from. #2, is a different treatment to the "getting ready shot". I was a bit confused in exactly what I was looking at, and still am. That shot really doesn't work for me. The rest, absolutely great.

I too want to see the "pull back" for the tub shot! That was after the wedding, I presume, and works great...

My guess? 10mm is pretty bloody wide and standing on the sink would get even his short asian behind* up pretty high. :)

Well, that's fair enough. I also wasn't too sure on the cool tone of it. But the rest of the series is processed cool so I kept that theme even though I wasn't sure if I like it for that one. I'll post one more from the series. I think the cool tone works, but maybe not for 2. btw, I focused on her face in the small mirror in 2. Yeah, I agree it's still confusing.

I was actually standing on the edge of the tub. My toe peeked into the frame just slightly so I had to clone it out. And yes it's a chandelier in the bathroom. This was one seriously swank powder room. It wasn't too high as you can see here:

I also have one that I shot with the sky not blown. Totally different look and feel though. What can i say, I like to go for variety.

Cool. Did you shoot blind overhead for that one (the tub)?

No 11 is far better with the sky not blown out. Love no. 7, the rest don't really feel special.

I like the dress shot actually. I agree they tend to look all the same. Not that I do anything about that myself. :(

Not too crazy about the post processing on #2, but I still like the shot itself. I don't really agree on the towel ring being distracting. Towel rings are expected in a bathroom, no? I would clone out whatever it is that's on the right edge though. Right above the arm of the markup artist.

I think #4 is an interesting shot but the bride looks a little weird. Might be the fact that I am looking up her nose? Not really sure.

Otherwise, I love the set. The bathtub shot is an absolute killer. Love it!!!
