I need to upgrade my gear. I have to add a body that does video.
so Im torn. I have a 1DMKII i LOVE! I also have a 5Dc. Which should I sell?

I was thinking I could sell the 1DII and go 7D and keep the 5D classic.
or sell the 5D classic and get a 5DII. I want one body with AF speed and FPS.

I shoot mainly weddings. The 7Ds AF, video and built in flash transmitter
are nice to have. So, is the 7D a better camera than the 1D2? I do want
to retain a FF camera.

If it were me, no doubt I'd go the 1d2/5d2 route. Gives you a 1D series body/AF/FPS and a fullframe with video/top ISO performance.

7D/5D is a great combo, and it frees up funds to get glass. There are several on the board here too that have moved to a 7D over the 1DII, or at least added it to the stables due to what all it can do.

the 7D is a cheaper upgrade for sure. this is a tough decision. going 7D might require a shuffle of glass. 24-70 to 17-55IS. it almost might make sense
to add a 7D to my kit for about the same money as it would cost to upgrade the 5D to 5D2?

The way you ask the question it seems as if you want to upgrade because you can, not because you need to.
If you needed to upgrade you'd have a clear path.

Think where your setup is lacking - it might even be worth waiting longer - maybe even waiting a whole year for a 5D MK III (or maybe 2 years).

well, I offer both video and photo at weddings. So, when I book a combo, it would be nice to be able to switch back and forth for overlapping coverage, if that makes sense. but otherwise, I'm happy with my current setup, everything is sharp and my bodies are both spot on with AF, so.

Ah, that makes a bit more sense :)

I think the 5D MK II is better for video than the 7D - but you'd ideally want an IS lens for video...
And a lot of capacity.
