OK , been looking for one but this one is only 4'8" . The one I had went to about 5'10" . I bought it at a camera show and gave away before I needed a cane . Anyone seen one with a name or know where I can get one ? The below post is for a camera shop in England I think

Leki - a bit more expensive but very good quality. Link (external link).

Thanks , it's tall enought , but I need one like a cane - this is like a walking stick .
I have 2 bogen monopods I can and have used as walking sticks but they are not designed to suport over 100 kilos .

What about something like ->THIS (external link)<-

Then you could come back and review it.

I need something to use as a cane - those are more hiking sticks / poles .
The one I had was probably at least 20 years old and I got it as a whim - maybe a snake thrower .
I gave it away to a guy that needed a cane
I need something that will bear my weight , all of them will support 200 lbs - but I prefer a T type handle .
I have 2 bogen monopods and made a T handle but it kind-of-sucks and is hard to store . I have the 625 pancake QR and plate but have to remove T handle to mount camera then adjust to my height .
I painted both mono's with fingernail polish so I was not guessing about height - ugly but works .

The thing seems OK , the only problem so far was that you had to sign for it . I had to make a trip to post office to pick up . Give it a month to get to you if you get one . It goes to about 68 inches , but with a sima Quick release [really small] and a 625 pancake Quick release , it raised it up to my height .
The camera / 1/4 / Quick release stud flips to front of cane handle when used as a cane .

It looks good. I'm assuming that it can support your weight?

Thanks r.morales!
We have a store that stocks all kinds of hardware. Lee Valley Tools. They have fittings for cane handles, and such. You could make your own. Disadvantage? Ihaven't figured out how to use it as a monopod. And I know that's what you need.
Hope you can figure a way and let me know. ;)
Best,

Dave

ecub - Yes I handles my weight [270 pounds - probably at least 100 on cane when I put weight on it] No problem with weight of camera , lens , and grip . It has a spring inside that compresses when weight is applied - even came with a mud / sand and a snow plate .
--
2mnycars - as soon as I find my spare Sima Quick release , I will put together with the bogen pancake QR and take a shot of it . I'll have to use a tape measure , only have one camera [decided to get more glass instead of another body]
