External mic for 5d2

Can someone recommend an external microphone for the 5d2? From what I understand the built in picks up a lot of background noise.

Think about what you want to record.

I did some digging - and went for a Röde Videomic Stereo - now in my case I won't be recording talking people though, so the stereo is quite nice.

There is another Röde Mic (its a Scandinavian ö by the way - this one's German) - the "normal" Videomic - it and the Sennhesier are directional microphones.

Find some Youtube comparisons - there are plenty - I decided to settle on Röde and found these two quite informative:

(On that note - the audio quality on that stereo mic is really nice)

As "fragile" as 4 reasonably thick rubber bands can be - i.e. not really - I'm assuming you mean the Stereo one ;)

On that note though - all mikes are quite large - there is no way round it.
