Since we're getting more and more into video, here is my first video attempt. Kind of sad I know -- I also screwed up the white balance, since I always shoot RAW I didn't even think of setting it before shooting.

Shot at 1080/24, but reduced to 720 and sped up to 96 fps. Compressed using ffd, down to 8MB. No audio.

Not a bad effort. This phase of the moon is the most difficult to capture. This is my attemp this weekend : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qf0rM31SVkE (external link)

Does the Sky-Watcher have tracking on it, or did you crop in post to keep it?

Mine was with a 1Ds Mark II + 300 f/2.8 + 2x TC .. cropped in post. Original video was 5 minutes worth.

Yeah my dobsonian got tracking but because the moon was pretty low in the horizon it was climbing faster then my motor can keep up. If I had waited until it was higher, I could have probably tracked for longer. This is not crop at all. I have at around 1500mm FL with my telescope.

What's the connection between the telescope and the T2i? I'm assuming it doesn't have a EF mount.

You need an EOS Ring and T-adapter. That fits into a 2"inch adapter of the dobsonian focuser.

Would have been nice to let us know it's a download not a flash video...for those of us who prefer not to download from unknown sources...

I've tried shooting video of an eclipse a few years back and it was much tougher than I thought... I'm going to have to try and find that footage to share here.
