So I'm moving back up to Boston, and want to be much more proactive with my photography now that I have the time. Which of these images do you think would be best for a Boston based photographers buisness card. They're all boston related, which I think is important because it will feel more relatable to the prospective client. If they're not from boston I still want it to jump out at them. Let me know
(I made them small because its how they will appear.... duh!) And Ill crop them respectively

1 Fenway color pano

To start, I'm certain you cannot use the shots from inside Fenway on your card. Stadiums fall under MLB and team copyright. You're gonna need their consent to use these shots in any kind of commercial way(your card counts).

Here's my question. What's the focus of your business going to be? I ask because all these shots are dark, gritty and edgy. This is fine if you're going after the art market as a way to sell your style of work. But I'd think you're going to put off a lot of folks looking for someone to do their weddings or take portraits of their kids.

I voted #6 btw.

i really dig #6, it says modern, chic, connected to the city, adventurous, the whites say "im clean and fresh" the darks say "im grungy and hip" it has the most character to me. people take pictures ususally around big life milestones, like the stops on a subway or like getting on a train and going somewhere new. dig this shot.

I think 3 and 6 would work well - I wouldn't suggest using an overpowering image (like 1 & 2) but something that looks great and is rather "simple" too.

Its kinda hard to select when I do not know what your target market will be. Will you just be shooting Boston scenery, or portraits, weddings??

+1, really nice shot. And I think it might work even in smaller sizes.

Go out and take a better skyline pic without the foreground elements.

Dont use fenway. Sometimes big leagues like NFL and MLB throw lawsuits at people who use logos, jerseys, etc without permission.
Keep the photo, just dont put it on all your cards. Cover your rear.

#1: features are the wide angle distortion and colour; downsides: no particular interest factor in the foreground people, game way too small to look engaging; begs a "I could have - given a wide enough lens - done that too" reaction
#2: better perspective, classier treatment; but limited interest
#3: again, limited interest... looks unbalanced with nothing else in frame, shadows and highlights are still problematic - looks like you took it because it's a landmark, and from the same ground level that I guess anyone else could snap off a shot from any day of the week... even a cloudy sky background would be more interesting; limited sense of depth
#4: great effort on difficult subject matter - impossible to balance, heavy column leaving the top
#5: very easily the best, good sense of depth in most parts, textures, overall tonality, balance. The stripy pattern atop the foreground building looks weird but interesting - though perhaps the most interesting area in the whole photo is obfuscated by it; foreground windows are interestingly but subtly different in lighting; just enough of the road, trees and base of the buildings stretching away at left to establish height and context as well as enhancing interest.
#6: dramatic but a bit unsatisfying. White shoe / jeans of person right could usefully be PPed out. Some outlines at left that can't be resolved and are frustrating... even determining whether we're looking at the side of a train or the wall behind the tracks is an effort.
#7: Sorry, but nothing about that to make you stand out as a professional. Very simple shot, haven't found foreground interest.
#8: Doesn't quite come together for me... shape of the bench doesn't fit that harmoniously in the frame, contrast too exaggerated, a couple bright spots that draw attention but can't be resolved.

Cheers,
Tony
