Flicking through my photostream and I was thinking that this belongs here too since we literally set the cam up on rocks and used self-timer.. (oh, and just to prove I don't always wear crazy makeup and do abstract selfies..) hahaha.. from our honeymoon in Japan in April -

Playing around this morning. Wish I had some more detail on the right side but oh well, I'm still learning portrait stuff since I'm a landscape photographer!

Rippled abs and half man/woman - both tough acts to follow. This is the first self-portrait I've done that I have actually processed. The rest I usually delete because I think I look like a complete idiot. I probably still look like one, but whatever - I had fun, and that's what matters.

Nice one! A reflector to your left would sort out the fade to black issue and still give you that hard directional light that works well for these types of shots.

I could never manage shoulders & arms like that, but I recall the diet needed for the abs. I've since succumbed to pizza and beer, but back on the diet so I can look like this (external link) again for my honeymoon in Oct :)

Thanks! I tried messing around with a reflector to the right but just couldn't get it right. I was getting a little impatient (and tired) since I was just using the self timer...I'll give it a try again later. Nice work on your pic! Pizza and beer are my vice's as well, lol. You have plenty of time until your honeymoon so I'm sure you'll make it!
