You've got awesome hair.. I wish I had curly hair! Mine alternates between waves and frizz. Noiiiice!

Well thank you. (: It drives me NUTS in the summer time(I HATE frizzies). But it is nice cause I can go curly, straight or wavy whenever I want. :D haha.

Would've been better with aviators
Beach photo trip or three in summer yes?

It would've been better if it didn't hurt!

Sure! But there's no beaches out West, remember.

And I'm not swimming in "Lake Awesomeville". :p

Lol, making up new words? Awesome!

Awesome SP yourself....very well done, and pretty hilarious!

Thanks! It started out much tamer than that (just me in the shirt against a white background) buy my fiancee (who's Chinese) kept pushing me to add more stuff to it. I was worried about it coming across as me stereotyping, but she thought it was hilarious so I went ahead with it :)

Thanks! I tried messing around with a reflector to the right but just couldn't get it right. I was getting a little impatient (and tired) since I was just using the self timer...I'll give it a try again later. Nice work on your pic! Pizza and beer are my vice's as well, lol. You have plenty of time until your honeymoon so I'm sure you'll make it!

They are evil, and very delicious!

Self portrait with my Manfrotto 161MK2B and Manfrotto 055C. I wanted to show how ridiculously tall the Manfrotto 161MK2B could be.

I bought it used, with the 160 head, for $300, and later sold it for $350. Super stable, but it was just too large and heavy for anything else than a permanent studio setting.

Jeebus! That's crazy.

Great processing on this one mate.

Been following this thread forever, but never had much to contribute until now. Not as creative as some of the great shots being posted, but I like the way it came out... especially for a combined self-portrait, wife maternity, location shoot with strobes.

My wife and I while on vacation a couple of weeks ago.

Edit: Ack... now that I see this on a better monitor, the colors and exposure don't look as good as they did at home. Need to re-edit this.

This portraiture stuff is kinda fun! Here is another try (with my clothes on this time, lol). Soft box + reflector to the left. Think I'm starting to get the hang of it a bit.

I like the first one better. The second one looks like you photographed a cardboard cutout.

I got it! It's been a while since I posted here.

Others have told me about the cardboard cut out look, but I don't know how to fix it. Do you have any advice?

Lighting is key. The scene of the building is clearly cloudy/gloomy where as the people were shot in daylight "harsh" sun.
Whenever I make a composite I always try and make sure I light myself with even lighting - its easier to make it look real in the final image.
I'm no pro, but that's my advice.
