How did you time your camera for the jump? Did you use a remote release?

Show off! ;)

Here's my second self portrait from a set of self portraits I had to do for school... I'm not thinking of getting used to shooting myself though!

Yes, remote release. I would do things differently next time to get the settings more correct.

This is too easy, really!
I just had a chair to my left, 580 EX II (with diffuser) mounted on a Cactus V5 pointing it's flash head at me... After that it's just some PP to blacken the background! PP took about 5 minutes, getting the distance and framing sorted is a whole other story though! Hope this helps, if not or if anything is still unclear, please just ask! :D

PS: If you have another flash (I thought about this when I was printing this one) you might want to flash yourself in the back to achieve a ray of light around you, that is even cooler I think!

You are so far off it's unbelievable...

Let's just say I would never trade my U.S. citizenship for one in the Netherlands or any other country. No more will be said on this subject.

Oooh, I picked a fine time to drop in. :o

Took the day off because I'm not feeling well. Noticed the afternoon light shining in through the dining room was kinda nice, so I set up real quick. I don't normally do portraits, let alone self-portraits, so it's a pretty basic shot. But I think it came out OK. Focus on the face is not 100% but it's pretty damn close ... prefocused on the front part of the couch and hoped for the best. 50mm f/1.4 @ f/2.8, 1/40s, ISO 1600
