Well, you know how most students like. let's relax the whole semester, and let's study for the final in the last two weeks.

Well, why not! Might as well take a photo while the camera was on the tripod.
Will do my best to focus better the next time though lol, but this will do for now

Yeah, it was just one light. I wanted to keep it simple this time and it actually worked well. I had in mind to take some B&W selfies and thought that one light would give me such light, that it would illuminate just enough and the shadows would hide the rest.

I had one speedlight on a softbox on a stand on my right side and over the head in 45 -degree angle. The softbox was really close to me, just on the edge of the frame. Fired the speedlight via 7D's wireless trigger and E-TTL. Dialed the flash compensation nearly all the way down to -3. I shot at f/8, ISO100, 1/250th sec because I wanted to hide the ambient light as much as possible (the backround was white room, so...).

My first attempt at a self portrait, after watching Peter Hurley dvd I felt inspired!

Thanks rrblint, I'd had a play around with a High Key tutorial and decided I liked this exactly where it is now - its a bit harder than I thought shooting yourself!
