Yes...there is no substitute. And actually, I stack tracked images too. That particular shot, the MW consists of 10 stacked tracked images. ISO 1600, F/2, 60 seconds each image. At 100% crop there is very little noise. Great for printing large.

I know this is the wrong thread for this chat but just wanted to ask what tracker you use? The shot above is amazing. I’ve only ever done non stacked and non tracked MW shots

Just use Photoshop. Align layers, make them Smart Object, and then Median blend. That's all.

I use the cheapest on the market, i think...iOptron Sky Tracker Pro. You can get it on Amazon for $285.

Actually, I used my Sony a7r III + FE 85 f1.4 GM lens to take the selfie of me holding one of my vintage cameras pointing back at the Sony. ;-)a
