I noticed this issue on one of my 5D MKII's, and I thought I would pass it along if anyone else had noticed the same. Both of my 5D MKII's are a little over 1.5 years old, and they both have the same amount of use, but only one has this issue.

As you can see, on one of the cameras the battery door doesn't close tightly, and on the other it's fine:

Normal:

Abnormal:

So far I haven't noticed any ill effects of this, but it will obviously negate any weather sealing there and I assume that if it gets any worse, the camera will think the battery door is open and turn off. Short term solution will be carrying some gaffer tape with me at my next gig... I guess the long term solution will be to replace the door? Hopefully that will fix it.

Anyone else ever see this on a 5D, or any other camera?

Just checking but are you using the original camera battery? I got 3rd party batteries once and had a problem of not being able to close the battery door.

Yep, I should have mentioned that, only ever used OEM batteries.

All you need to do is take off the battery door.
On the inside of the door, you'll see a steel plate and 2 screws, undo the screws and remove the steel plate.
Underneath will be the plastic plate the door tab is part of,take out the plastic plate and bend this slightly in the middle so that the tab section on the edge is angled closer to the door.

Interesting, I'll give this a shot. Thanks!

Make sure you bend it the right way, you want the tab angled more into the door than away from it.
