Ive been wanting to do a photoshoot for my girlfriend's sister and finally got the chance to. I needed help with posing people and i dont know anyone else that would let me use them as a test subject. good thing my girlfriend's sister did some modeling and im close with her, so it went well.

let me know how i did. it was my first time directing someone to do poses.

C&C please!

I think you did a great job. I like that she has a different expression in every shot. You also did a great job choosing the setting for each shot as the backgrounds look great in every one of them.

thank you! really appreciate that! i was really iffy on poses and wasnt sure if i was not doing much or it didnt work for her. i was also afraid that the poses were boring.

Backgrounds and separation are nice and I like her poses in most of them. Maybe it's what she's wearing but the lower half of #1 looks odd imo and also there's a slight blueish cast to these on my calibrated monitor. #2 is great I love everything about it but again I'd warm it up a tiny bit.

nice work...I think the poses went ok. I would have preferred to some SMILES!! She has a very cute face and needed to smile more!

I agree with that actually. I think it's the arched back that makes it look odd to me. I still say that you did a great job, though.

I think you both did really well, I really love the style and set up especially in #2. I'm not sure that type of smirk (the last photo) works for her but other than that really good job.

thanks everyone for the advices and tips! i will definitely remember them for the next shoot i do. like i said, it was my first time directing so im just playing with poses and looks.

as for the blueish tint, my mbp isnt calibrated. ill try to adjust the temperature a bit to the warmer side.

I actually really like the smirk on the last one - I think it's cute :)

yea, that smirk was intentional. after all the serious look in most of the poses, i asked her to give me an evil smirk. after all kinds of different smirk she was trying, it didnt look natural. then she was about to laugh because i told her 'no' to all of them, and thats when i caught that one in the pic.

I think part of that is puffy shirt and tight skirt. Its the only picture with that outfit on.

and you didnt hit me up again!!

Don't try to confuse me with the facts, my mind is already made up.

what is a good way to loosen someone up and get them to relax when they pose?
