Any chance you got some shots of that tree itself? If it's his larder tree it should have hundreds of holes drilled in it with acorns stuffed in the holes. It's quite a sight. Edit: I just looked back at the photos, funny thing is right behind his beak there is a hole he is working on, its in other shots but not this one. This was the most in focus though

But down lower where the trunk is thick, there should be lines and rows of holes filled with acorns. I use to live in the Southwest, and saw lot's of them, but never had a camera then.
