So now that we have 3 inch high res lcds on almost every dslr whats the next step. I think 3 inches a perfect size but i guess thats what they said about 2 inch screens. So whats next higher res screens (what im betting on) or even larger screens? Put your comments below

Something similar to the new iPhone Retina display? (ie, higher resolution).

Articulating + widescreen (already on the 550D I believe). Ever-increasing resolution and color accuracy (perhaps back lit LED screens. ??

I hope the standard will become 3" widescreen LCD screens with LED backlights...

If you are referring to something like an AMOLED screen on a DSLR then I would be strongly opposed to that... OLED screens are impossible to see in any kind of bright light - you would never be able to see the camera's screen when shooting outside... (I know this because my nexus one has an AMOLED display)

I am also opposed to articulating screens - I feel they take up too much room and reduce the 'sleekness' of the camera - that being said, I understand how some people could really utilize them...

I agree, i hate articulating screens, and honestly for most things they arent very helpful (macro people dont get on my case now :))

I agree with the articulating screen... more prone to breaking specially with childrens and other people taking a look at your camera..

I do want a LED display, like those new monitors

+1

I hope Canon implements articulating screens with all their DSLR's in the future (And touch screens).

I think they will get up around 4" as well.

Detachable touchscreen with a range of a few hundred feet.
Or perhaps an iPod/iPad app that controls the DSLR :D:D:D

-1 for the articulating screen; I think they are fugly

-1 for the touch screen; It gets enough smudges from my nose as it is

The Q menu on the 7D would be spectacular if it was a touch screen, just touch and set. Articulating screens are very, very nice for live view and video.

All that are against the articulating screens might as well just give in, because IT WILL HAPPEN. You will see Canon bring this to the DSLRs by the end of 2011. :)

Yeah but I want one that doesn't need a computer in between the iPod and the camera - and one with no wires either...

The last DSLR I buy will be the last one before they go with articulating screens :)
