I don't know if I accidentally changed something, but my printed images aren't the correct or expected size, and I'm not sure why. I'm using Photoshop CS4 and ACR to process the RAW files from my 1d4. When I open the file and look at the image size, it's correct, and PPI is 300. I'm cropping the image to 8x10 with resolution set to 300. After the crop, I look at image size again. I see 2400x3000 pixels, 8x10, and PPI of 300, all what I would expect to find. If I look at the print size and rulers, all show the 8"x10" size. I'm printing on 8.5x11 photo paper, and the resulting image is 7"x8.5" instead of the expected 8x10. I'm using the Canon EasyPhoto print plugin in CS4 to do the printing. I'm printing on my Canon Pixma Pro 9500 Mark II with Ilford gold fibre silk photo paper and Ilford ICC profile. The printed images look great..except for being smaller than I want or expect. Any thoughts about what's causing this discrepency? Thanks.

It sound like your driver is imposing margins. Check your settings and you will likely see settings of 1/2" -- I don't have your printer but you should be able to change those settings to, say, 1/4" so the 8" dimension will fit.

As Tony said, check your printer's page settings. Be sure it is set to "Print at actual size" and not "Fit to page" and check the margins. For an 8x10 on 8.5x11 you will need 1/4" margins on the short side but 1/2" margins on the long side.

That was it. Thanks, guys, for pointing me in the right direction! The Canon EasyPhoto Print Pro plugin hides the dialog with the printer driver and has its own buttons for controlling the printed image size and margins, and that's where I found the settings were wrong...and it was an easy fix. Thanks again.
