I will be buying the canon 400 f5.6 in a few days :D. I have already decided on the Manfrotto 393 gimbal for bird photography. Any thoughts on a decent quailty tripod to support this setup for under $250? Weight isnt much of an issue but I dont want it to way a ton. Im 6'1" but would also like a tripod that gets low to the ground.

Thanks,
-BB

The manfrotto O55XPROB would support your 400L, and it is within your budget.

I'd get something lighter if you have up to 250 just for legs.

Agreed, I have that tripod and it is great but a little on the heavy side. My budget would not allow anything more expensive.
