Hi,

This is the night sky photo that I took last night. It was unusually clear last night, despite the rain we had every day. I took the photo just before midnight and left the camera on continuous shot mode and attached the cable with the two wires stuck together; this is to keep it going while I get ready for bed. It is a stack of 13 images at 15 seconds each. I did 15 photos, but DSS wanted only 13. ISO 200 and 55mm kit lens.

I have attached a crop of the double cluster of NGC 884 and NGC 869.

I originally wanted to take a photo of Andromeda Galaxy, but after looking at the photo and the output from Astrometry, it looks like I would have to go above the houses and hope for a power cut! It's the street lights that are in the way.

Do often get nice clear skies after it's rained. Seems to be a fair bit of noise for only 15s per exposure...light pollution too, is that a big town or something nearby?

It was rather warm last night, so that may be the cause of some of the noise. Also, there is some light pollution where I am with a night light on a car park that is very bright towards the North East. I may be in North Wales, but unfortunately, I am in the middle of the town. Also, while looking at the light pollution map for the UK, I noticed that every small village and town in the area is a light pollution hotspot.
