NYC photographer suing over image use

this has something to do with Will Smith and she's only sueing for 150,000? Seems like she could get more than that.

There's definitely an element of irony in all this, considering that the photograph is of Nigerian origin.

One good thing about proving photography copyright is that no one can take an identical photograph unless they had absoluteluy identical equipment, down to the pixel, in the precise location at the same milisecond the picture was taken. Exif info is incidental.

Been there, done that, and the magazine that ripped of the image paid up ten times what they could have had it for.

I hope she wins it. It annoys me that people think they can just use somebody else's image without even asking first. Theft is theft, no matter what you steal.

It's why I think it is so funny that the music and film industry is so sue happy when it comes to people "stealing" their work (distributing free copies online with no profit) but don't think twice about trying to "steal" things they want from others to make a buck. Hypocrites.
