it's a good shoot.
right eye is focused and nose bridge...left is a bit soft......unless that is your intention.

All: Thank you for the comments and critics.
@Kento: Yeah, I did not realize the awesome sharpness of this lens until now. :p
@Q-bert: I tried remoeving the redness but found out it is too fake. Feel free to edit it. Thank you.

Couldn't resist to play with a touch up on such a cool shot. :D

I copied a piece of the other side of the eye and made a layer mask with it. I reshaped the piece with the liquefy tool to make it fit around the iris. Increased the brightness of the layer in curves. Then I decreased the layer opacity down to 65% and used a brush to fade in the edges.

Let me know what you think. Too much looks fake - not enough to make a difference - just right - a little off.

Regardless it's still a really great shot and darn if you don't have me looking at a new lens. Was that shot done with a "L class" lens or the regular? I've noticed about a $450 difference in the two 100mm macro lenses.

i like the shot a lot, but one thing stood out to me, why is the forehead and nose 2 different colors? was the make up not applied evenly?

My guess would be that the forehead caught more light then the nose. It seems the colors match up better as the light wraps around the forehead and fades out some.

It's a nice shot.
A little over-sharpened (look to her eye-lashes at the white aura)

This is stunning. I'm picking up a 100 f/2.8 next month and am looking forward to images anywhere close to this.

the lens is only maybe 10% of this shot, if that. this shot has great lighting, make up, and concept

Sorry, I meant I know how much went into this but that sharpness can be traced back to the 100mm macro. It's an amazing glass and didn't mean to take anything away from the other factors. I know far too well the amount of work that goes into an pic like this.
