Here is a shot I done a few months back of my precious Grandmother. We were visiting her and my son was playing in the floor and she was watching him play. I threw up my camera with nothing other than a window beside her and took the shot. I had to shoot with a higher ISO than I like and it is not a perfect shot I know. However a about 2 weeks later she was in the hospital with cancer. Another week or so later her sweetheart of more than 60 years passed away, and she was released long enough to go to the funeral. My Grandmother is home now doing some better, but this might be the last good shot that I ever get of her. So you CC is welcomed, but nothing can change about how I feel about this image!

Shots like that are just priceless. Lost my grandmother in 1995 and miss her intensely, still.

Wow, amazing pictures.

I really like the High ISO in these shots. It resembles film grain. I feel it adds to the mood.

I agree that the high ISO works great with that first shot. Very nicely done. It seems like the best pictures are taken under less than perfect conditions and the imperfections are what really make the pictures stand out above the rest. It definitely deserves to be hanging on the wall for all to see.

It's nice when we can take all the pixel-peeping, OOF, blown highlight, high ISO noise, etc. crap and toss it out the window; photos like this convey such powerful emotion - much more powerful than words. These are fantastic...thanks for sharing.

Thanks everyone. I agree sometimes it is nice not to get caught up trying to get the technically perfect shot, but let the photograph do what it was intended to do. Which is produce something that we can reflect back on years later and re-live that 1/60th of a sec that the image was produced!
