I don't dispute any of that, but in terms of color and tonal rendition Velvia is pretty Kodachrome-like to my eyes.

"Raw" is not an acronym, abbreviation, nor a proper noun; thus, it should not be in capital letters.

Tony I always thought it to be a bit over-staturated myself. I actually did some tests a long time ago using a color chart a gray card and Koda 25, Koda 64 and Velvia and several other trans films or the time (many are gone now) and found that the 25 was the most accurate with 64 in a very close second. 25 seemed to handle reds better than 64. I do think that Velvia is probably the best of the E-6 films and with the little added punch is great for landscapes but not as neutral as PKM or PKR and I tested the professional versions of both films which of course were far more stable if stored and processed immediately over the non pro version. Velvia is a great film and maybe one of the best E-6 films but PKM and PKR where in a league all their own and what every transparency film was judged against. One major problem that Kodachrome always had was the fact you had to send it to Kodak until the late 1980s to get it processed.

I think it's the only film I used. Somehow ASA 25 didn't bother me. Probavly because I was mainly outside. Here are some from then recently copied from slides. _______________

Fujichrome Velvia is really nice - I don't see much difference compared to Kodachrome. Velvia rocks but its "punchier" than kodachrome.Truly the end of an era...but I thought that about plus-x and tri-x and tech-pan. Still I haven't really missed "celuloid" myself.

The only 3 rolls I have ever shot of Kodachrome. I have 5 rolls sitting here because something tells me that someone will resurrect K14 or some way to use the film through some alternate process.
