^ I like it a lot! Great colors, Virginie! I wonder if you got more shots just a bit later in the evening too.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

Thank you very much. :) At first I was a bit disappointed to see so many clouds but this makes me learn that even if there are some, I can still try to go out and shoot the stars. Something pretty interesting can come out of it.
This one was taken just before midnight. Then there was more and more clouds so we left. I could stay the whole night out. Not my brother. And he was the driver, so...

I tried a few more. Unfortunately the foreground was too dark. I didn't think of doing a much longer exposure for it at the time. I played with it to make the bottom part of the picture look like a drawing (because of all the noise). Not the best so I'm gonna have to go there again.

Just ordered one of these from BeachCamera. Was a little more than Amazon but it comes with Adobe Photoshop Elements and Premiere 12 along with some other stuff. Will sell the software and bag, so hopefully will get the price down to below $260.

Funny, I ordered that thing, then came on here to reinforce my decision, glad this thread didn't disappoint. :)

Hi there! I need a advice...

Watching this all beautiful shots and want a one Samyang 14 for myself... :)
But some tests on the net tells that Tokina 16-28 f2.8 a little bit sharper (especially on the corners) and distortions much better compare to Samyang...

Is anyone has this two lenses and can tell me, what lens I should to buy ?
I Want to shot more landscapes (on the night too), than architecture.

Thanks.

Can you set aperture using camera wheel, or do you do it manually on lens, and if so, will it register in view finder when you do it manually

I know you focus manually, but will you get focus confirmation.

I believe I read in a thread here, but cant find it, that they came out, or will be coming out with the 14mm that can do everything mentioned, or just perhaps one or the other..( Not Sure)

**Thanks**

This is a strictly manual lens that does not communicate with the camera. Camera will meter of course and you have shutter speed obviously. But setting aperture and focusing are done manually. And no, you don't get focus confirmation.

MY camera did NOT meter accurately AT ALL with the Rokinon version of this lens. It's one of the big reasons I got rid of it.

not sure why it's any different from any other lens. If you put on any of your lenses, and unscrew it a tad bit so the contacts no longer contact, essentially, you have a manual lens. Will that still meter? because it definitely should.

metering is a function of the camera, not lens.

I don't know what to tell you Charlie. I was constantly fighting trying to get a good exposure. Maybe I'll try it again after I go FF.
