My first additions to the thread - a couple night shots from Amboseli National Park in Kenya right after New Years.

Canon 60D with Bower 14mm - the 60D was struggling quite a bit at ISO 5000, but still had fun shooting the stars!

1) ISO 1600, f/2.8, 20sec

I'm loving this lens, even though I'm using the magnification feature in live view to focus ;-)a

Really nice Raymond! Just a question, did you use a graduated filter or HDR to get this impressive dynamic ? The sky is really dark...

Hi there!

These images were exposed for the sky with the shadows brought up, the highlights brought down and used the grad filter in Lightroom. Photoshop was only used to correct the distortion using the PT lens plug-in.
All taken from one single solo shot (not multiple shots merged together) as I find the dynamic range of the 6D to be more than sufficient for my needs. :-)

Cheers

This is a great shot as well. It the flare real?

I'm trying to shake things up a bit. If all pans out I'll likely finally grab one of the little gems!

You won't be disappointed. Especially for the price. I always end up with cool shots from this lens.

I think the lens has some major field curvature. Most of this image is sharp, however the right side is really soft:

I've used this lens plenty, and cant explain it any other way. Usually, I stop down, so not an issue, however, this shot is wide open. Generally, the lens is very sharp, fantastic for landscapes. I've skipped the typical ultrawide zoom in favor of this prime, I just jump right to 28-70 or 24-105.

Really like the colors and contrast in this shot.

Quick question for you, you said you shot this at 2.8, and about how far away from the kids where you?
