Jun 30, 2015 05:00 | #4385 I´am thinking about buying UWA lens, i´am deciding between Canon 16-35f/4 and this wonderful lens, but don´t know if additional 2mm are worth it. Have anyone tested those lenses side by side? Website (online) : www.lukaskrasa.com

I just went through this debate myself (but from the perspective of already owning the Rokinon 14mm). I bought the 14mm Rokinon for a trip out west specifically to use for shooting the Milky Way, star trails and timelapses primarily because it's sooo good for that, and it's relatively cheap. I was missing coverage between 14 and 24 on full frame though, so I was debating between the Tamron 15-30 and the Canon 16-35 f/4. The thought with the Tamron was that I could sell the Rokinon since the difference between 14mm and 15mm wouldn't be enough for me to justify carrying an additional lens.

Jun 30, 2015 09:38 | #4388 I don´t use extreme UWA lens that often, so Tamron would be kinda overkill for me. Website (online) : www.lukaskrasa.com

Jul 01, 2015 08:25 | #4389 I struggled with the 14 vs 16-35F4IS for months. 14 is definitely more dramatic, horrible star bursts, both similar sharpness. Based on camera settings, I think the 16-35 can do astro as well, but the rok 14 does indeed do it very well. ![]() ![]() ![]() Sony A7siii/A7iii/ZV-1 - FE 24/1.4 - SY 24/2.8 - FE 35/2.8 - FE 50/1.8 - FE 85/1.8 - F 600/5.6 - CZ 100-300 - Tamron 17-28/2.8 - 28-75/2.8 - 28-200 RXD
