Taken on a very bright night. Waning Gibbous Moon at 87%.

This is a composite of a four minute foreground shot at ISO 800, and a four shot stack of twenty second star shots at ISO 6400.

The crux of the biscuit is the apostrophe.

This lens is really perfect for landscape and aerial photography.

Took an old Piper Cub to "Le Bassin d'Arcachon" in South-West France, amazing place.

My lens finally arrived, its one with red ring instead of golden ring... What is the difference?

I did few tests and it performs great, amazing sharpness across the frame even on f/2.8, only small portion of corners are little bit blurry.

I cant wait to test it in the city.

The difference is fundamental. Red ring makes that your Samyang looks like your Canon's L lenses ;-)a

Hope to see your shots soon.

I was testing this lens whole day, the difference between this and 24mm is night and day, but...

My lens is probably slightly decentered, left or right side of image is getting soft when focusing, sometimes it ruins half of an image, but mostly it is not that noticeable.
It´s not new, i got it for 200 bucks with no warranty. I hope you guys had better luck :)

I added full-res preview (right side is little softer)- http://temp.lukaskrasa.com/samyang14.jpg (external link)

What was your f-value? do you get better results stopping down?

Canons to the left, Canons to the right,
We hold our L glass toward the light,
Digitizing in a snap reflective glory
That will forever tell our imaged story.

Hello,
it was f/5.6 and quality is getting even better on f/8.
f/2.8 sharpness is great only in center.

But maybe my expectations were just too high, center sharpness is pretty impressive even wide open.

Mine is tack sharp everywhere in the image at f2.8 (on the 6D).
The main difference between f2.8 and stopped down is the contrasts that are much higher. But sharpness wise, it's already outstanding wide open, even in the corners.

May i ask - is there any chance to see full-res shot with your samyang? I would really like to see how perfect version of this lens looks like edge to edge :)

Shot at f/2.8...I think it's good. In any case I'll hang on to it. :)

Gear List

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.
