Nice job Eddie^ Good job keeping that distortion under control with that crane arm as well. I find it tricky with this lens occasionally. Here's one from out in Utah from a few months back.

Thanks mate. The crane jib looks really long in this photo compared to reality but probably only noticable to people who see the crane daily.

Nice shot again!

I just Picked up this lens from Adorama for $249! I haven't shot much with it yet but I am trying to install a lens correction for Lightroom. Here is a link to where I found the profile but I cannot get the lens correction to be seen in lightroom. Has anyone else ran into this problem? When I save the file it automatically saves it as a text document

I downloaded a canon 6D profile and installed it. Now when I process the shot I just select canon in lightroom and the lens is at the bottom of the list (even though I shoot a sony)

I don't remember how I got it installed, but I know I have to shoot raw, or the profile is not even an option. It also only corrects distortion. Since there is no aperture data in the EXIF, it can't correct vignetting. Lightroom 5.7 does a nice job with raw files from this lens.

Somewhere back in this thread is a link that was posted for Adobe's lens correction for this lens which loads it in LR. I'll try and find it as I thought I book marked it.

Here's where I got the profiles http://darwinsden.com/lens-profile-rokinon-samyang/ (external link) it also tells you where to save them so that lightroom finds them. There's a jpeg and a raw profile (although I only dow loaded the raw versions)

I don't get it?!? How does LR know what aperture you shot at? That only makes sense if the profile author just picked one, and went with it. F/2.8 has a lot more vignetting that f/8. I don't understand. Can you link to your profile download?

Lens profile info from a previous post. This info was courtesy of POTN member Charlie:

This is graciously posted by veteran POTN member Charlie in previous threads, and has it conveniently noted under "Primes" in his gear list in his signature:

What you are saying makes sense. I will have to recheck in case I'm mistaken. The link is above

Post says to put downloaded profiles in:

C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\LensProfiles\

There is no \AppData\ folder on my Win7 machine. Help.

_______________

I found this blog for instructions for installing profiles. It doesn't work, either.

No probs. I dont have a 6D but figured since it was full frame it should work with my camera. Seems to work nicely
