If the People Section can have an OCF thread...why not the Pets Section too? ;)

So, post away....:)

I think that "Summer buzz" shot came out great!

I took this one with an AB800 and a shoot through and a half hazard attempt with a reflector.

Thanks :)

Nice shot. Cute dog, I like the perspective & the exposure looks good.

I'm debating whether or not to pick up a AB800 or AB1600 myself. On one hand if I can only have one strobe, I'm kind of leaning towards the 1600 since I already have two hot-shoe flashes....but I don't know if the 1600 will be overkill / too-powerful for most indoor use.

Cool thread! Not sure of this counts, I bounced the flash off the wall to make it look more like an off camera flash.

^That counts, nice shot. :)

The way you bounced the flash, it gives a nice natural look. Almost seems like your using window light. I like that.

You do know that you can turn the power down right? It will give you the most versatility if you ever decide to get a Vagabond and shoot out in the sun. But if you typically stay indoors like me a 800 is probably more than enough.

I know, but while the 1600 is 2 stops more powerful than the 800 ( I think), the 800 can be set 2 stops lower than then the 1600's lowest setting. However, I'm likely going to pick up a 1600...it's just hard to imagine what the AB's 640w is like compared to the 580EX's "100w" (give or take).

I *love* that picture, quite unique. I really have to get around to learning how to work with an off-camera flash!

That’s the difference between me and the rest of the world. Happiness isn’t good enough for me, I demand euphoria!
